Registration
Registration to attend the conference will involve three aspects as follows:
-
Payment of the conference fee: the conference fee will be £250 for the early bird registration and £275 for late registration. Note that the fee will mainly cover a Southampton bus ticket for the whole week of the conference, the cost for lunches and coffee breaks for all the conference days (including the summer school), as well as the entrance fee to visit the SeaCity Museum.
-
Payment of the conference dinner: attending the conference dinner will be optional and the corresponding location and cost will be announced as soon as all the relevant details are available. Each conference delegate can register to attend the dinner with up to one additional person.
-
Abstract submission: all participants planning to attend the conference are encouraged to submit an abstract for a presentation or poster; more details on abstract submission options can be found here.
Details on how to proceed with the payment of conference fees, as well as abstract submission, will be published by April 3rd, 2023, which is the registration opening date – see the Important Dates page for further details.
Visa application
Participants who require a visa to attend the conference are encouraged to start the application process as soon as possible after their registration, as it might be slow due to the backlog of applications at UK Embassies and Consulates around the world. However, note that the earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel. This means that if you plan to arrive the UK around the first week of August 2023, the earliest you would need to apply for your visa has to be around early May 2023. More details on eligibility and how to apply for a UK business visa can be found here.
COVID-19 rules
Recall that this conference is planned to be completely in person (no virtual option is under consideration for the moment). With regards to COVID-19 regulations in the UK, there is currently no restriction on travelling to England unless you are arriving from mainland China. Further COVID-19 related guidance can be found here.
Accommodation
There is a wide range of accommodation options within reasonable distance from the Highfield Campus of the University of Southampton, where the conference will take place. We are currently arranging block reservations in a few hotels to facilitate the process for the delegates. Please proceed with your bookings as soon as this list is published, as those reservations will be made on a first-come-first-serve basis.
